Doddabetta Peak, the tallest mountain in Tamil Nadu, is 2,637 metres high. From Ooty, which is only 9 km away, you may easily travel to this location in the Nilgiris hills. The path winds through mountains covered in lush greenery and offers enormous amounts of plant species to spot. The difficulty level is medium. Arrive a little early because peak viewing hours are from 9 am to 6:30 pm. Adults must pay INR 6 for admission and INR 10 for a still camera. But for what it's worth, from up there you can see the magnificent Bandipur National Park and portions of Mysore that are shrouded in mist.
